What are the advantages of using knitted and woven fabrics in clothing?
Knitted fabrics are suitable for making clothing that requires stretchability and comfort, such as T-shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, etc. Knitting is formed by passing one or more needles through loops in the fabric. The process is similar to hand knitting, but is done by machine. This method creates soft, stretchy fabrics such as cotton sweaters and knitted sweatshirts.
Knitted Clothing Fabric has a looser structure because it is made up of one continuous loop. This makes knitted fabrics generally softer, more stretchy, and able to stretch. Knitted fabrics often have a distinctly textured appearance, like a knitted pattern or grain, with more bend and stretch.
Advantages of knitted fabrics:
Comfort and stretch: Knitted fabrics are usually very soft and stretch well. This makes knitted garments very comfortable and suitable for high-activity activities such as sports and casual wear.
Breathability: Knitted fabrics generally have good breathability due to the many small holes present in the knitted structure, helping to keep the body ventilated and comfortable.
Warmth: Some knitted fabrics, such as wool and cashmere, have high warmth and are suitable for making winter clothing.
Adaptability: Knitted fabrics can be used to create a variety of different styles of clothing, from T-shirts and sweaters to skirts and sportswear.
Resistant to wrinkles: Knitted fabrics are generally less prone to wrinkles, making them easier to care for when traveling.
Woven fabrics are suitable for garments that require structure and stability, such as pants, jackets, shirts, and home furnishings. Woven fabric is formed by crossing weft threads (vertical threads) and warp threads (horizontal threads) over each other, and then passing the shuttle through the intersection points. This is the most common fabric manufacturing method and is used to create many different types of fabrics, including denim, silk, and bed linen. Woven fabric has a tighter structure because it is made up of crossing weft and warp threads. This makes woven fabrics generally stronger and more wear-resistant. Woven fabrics typically have a smooth appearance with relatively less texture and more structure.
Advantages of
Woven Garment Fabric:
Structure and Stability: Woven fabrics are generally stronger and more stable because the weft and warp threads cross each other, creating a strong fabric structure. This makes them suitable for garments that need to maintain their shape, such as suits, pants and shirts.
Variety: Woven fabrics are very versatile and can be used to create a variety of garments in different styles and uses, from formal to casual.
Durability: Due to their tight structure, woven fabrics are generally more durable and able to withstand more wear and tear.
Easily Printed and Dyeed: Patterns and colors on woven fabrics can be printed and dyed more easily, so a variety of different designs and patterns can be made.
